An interesting phenomenon happens to some of us when we hit big hands; our brains turn off. When the probability of us losing a hand approaches zero, fearlessness causes many of us to go on autopilot. Knowing that the chips in the middle are pretty much ours, we no longer take the effort to put our opponents on hands–we just mindlessly fire out bets or slowplay. Allowing such fearlessness to take over is very tempting, but it’s something that we must avoid if we wish to maximize our profits at the table.
