Poker Blog

.

My world moves fast, and with so much +EV to be had, I wouldn't have it any other way! With all the cookie jars my hands are in, I'm playing way less than the 40+ hours per week I used to, but since I need to keep up with the constantly changing poker climate, I thought that it would be good for my readers and all the playes I coach if I dedicated some of my time to building a fortune from a modest bankroll of $1,000. This blog will feature my bankroll building adventures in addition to stories from everything else I'm doing.

Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Vs. Me for $100 Tonight

7/18/2008 4:15PM

Today's big announcement: the prize pool for Blaze Me Up Freeroll #12 at Reefer Poker is $100. To win your seat in this heads-up no-limit hold'em match against me, simply tune into Killer Poker Analysis on Rounder's Radio from 5:00PM to 6:00PM PT. I'll be giving away a seat at some point during the show, and the match will begin immediately following the show.

With that being said, here are the life updates since it's been an eventful 3 months since my last blog entry. The biggest news is that I finally finished Tournament Killer Poker By The Numbers. Look for it to be available November or December of this year.

I've also been doing some consulting. Keeping up with poker article deadlines and the demands of my clients has been taxing. I haven't had nearly as much time to play as I'd like. I've been getting in about 5-7 hours per week, but I've mostly been living vicariously through the players I coach...many of whom are making huge strides in their games.

Life was simpler when I was mostly playing poker, and I'm expecting to make a big return to the tables soon (I'd like to be playing about 20 hours per week). But at the same time, I've been enjoying being a bit more well-rounded. The big challenge for me in the upcoming months will be striking the balance between taking on different challenges and ensuring that I have sufficient down time. Rest is very important...even when you're always doing things that you enjoy doing.
